John Peters embarked on his window film journey in 1985, starting in the carport of his mother's home. He soon advanced in the industry as one of the first tint installers for MAGIC Auto Glass. Later he worked at Protective Window Films, the largest tint shop in the region at the time. With six installers on staff, the shop would often tint over 20 vehicles in a single day! Although John transitioned into another career he never stopped perfecting his craft. Today he is back full time making a name for himself tinting heavy equipment, businesses, homes and of course vehicles. 

318 Window Films uses quality products from manufacturers such as Geoshield, based right here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as well as X-Sun out of Florida.  Window tint is primarily applied to the inside of glass, but exterior films are available for home and business applications.  Window tint stops as much as 60% of the heat passing through glass while stopping 99% of UV radiation.  Besides comfort, this is key in stopping fading and degradation of the interior of vehicles, homes or businesses.  We carry primarily ceramic films for automotive needs as well as alloys for residential and commercial use.

Standard window tint is typically 1.5-2mm thick, while safety films often exceed 8mm. Applied to the interior of flat-pane glass, safety film strengthens windows against storms, vandalism, and other violent events that could cause glass to shatter. For added protection, our anti-intrusion film uses a special bonding agent to secure the film to a structurally integrated window frame, making it difficult for an intruder or object to penetrate. Let us be clear, this material does not bulletproof glass. All of our safety films offer UV protection and tinted versions are available.

We also offer glass cleaning!  Every window tinted starts with a thorough cleaning with solution, scraping, scrubbing and squeegeeing. We offer monthly, quarterly or one-time commercial glass cleaning.  At the present time, we are equipment-limited to 1.5 story glass.
